Phoenix Contact'sM8 and M12 foil + drain cables utilize an aluminum foil shield that provides 100% coverage under the cable jacket and is ideal for RFI protection. These cord-sets are offered in two styles: with a drain connected to a pin, or with a drain not connected. The “drain-to-pin” design allows noise to be carried through the connector via one of the contacts. The “drain-not-connected” design allows easy termination of the drain wire at the open end of the cable. Connector heads are unshielded on all foil + drain cordsets.
The foil + drain product offers customers a cost-effective shielding option with list pricing between unshielded and braided shield designs. Standard lengths up to 40m are available off the shelf with a seven-day lead time.
